Do you ever notice times when things suddenly start to go awry (or seem to)? Maybe you are out running errands and someone cuts you off on the highway, causing your pulse to quicken and ire to rise? Or an unexpected bill arrives in the mail. Or your child pushes your level of patience over the edge. And from there, it just seems like everything starts working against you. Dinner gets burned. You realize you forgot to go to the post office. You snap at your spouse.
Your energy is now just ewwww.
Whenever you feel doubt, frustration, pessimism, or impatience, it’s a sign that your emotions have started to dip down into the negative side of the emotional scale. And while it’s okay for you to feel all the feels at different times in your life (heck, that’s why we are here as humans – to Experience.It.All.), it’s important to be aware of your emotions because they are the result of your thoughts (which you create!). So ultimately, you are responsible for your mood and all the outcomes that result from that.
Yes, you are in complete control and can turn that frown upside down!
I know when I get into negative loops like the one described above, I need to recognize it and stop it before it devolves into something more serious. Plus, I just hate feeling rotten because of otherwise inconsequential petty issues.
In cases like these, it’s good to have a list (written or mental) of go-to vibration lifters to help pull yourself out of that deepening puddle of bad mojo.
Here are some tips that I use to instantly lift my vibration. You can try any or all of these out and see how they work for you. Even better, come up with a few of your own and try them out the next time you find yourself in a funk.
This works for me almost every time. There’s just something about music and specific songs that inspire you, make you want to dance, remind you of happy times, or just give you that joyful feeling inside.
I love this breathing technique because it lowers my level of anxiety, impatience, and even anger. Take a deep breath for 4 counts in through your nose and be sure that you pull your stomach in when you do so. Then hold it for 7 seconds. Lastly, slowly exhale over 8 seconds, breathing through your mouth, making a whooshing sound as you do so, and letting your stomach push out during the course of the exhale. Do this 4 times.
Think of something – anything – that you can be grateful for in that moment. This may be the most powerful vibe lifter of all. Hint: recognizing that you are in a negative thought pattern and are actively working to turn it around is a reason to be grateful, too!
Take a walk around the block, dance with your kids, do some jumping jacks. Do your favorite exercise. Any type of exercise will release that built-up negative energy.
The 528Hz frequency is called the ‘frequency of love’. Scientists have shown that the heart of the Sun resonates at this frequency, as does all of nature. Listening to music set at this same frequency is said to move our emotional, spiritual, and physical bodies into this same frequency for better health and wellbeing. Google it and you can find loads of YouTube videos that play lovely music at the 528Hz frequency.
And here is a bonus tip for instantly lifting your vibration out of negativity and into positive territory.
When you step outside of yourself, you stop worrying about yourself. Stop by and check on your elderly neighbor. Write a short text to your best friend telling her why she is so special. Pay the coffee order for the car behind you in the drive-thru. Kapoww. It’s pretty magical.
